Skeleton or No Name is the main protagonist of the story Skeleton Soldier Couldn’t Protect the Dungeon.
Background Skeleton Soldier Couldn’T Protect The Dungeon
Skeleton was just a regular Skeleton Soldier minion placed under the Demon Lord Baal.
His past as a human remains unknown. His grave where his remains are buried had no clues about his past. The tombstone of his grave had been scratched so bad that they can’t even see his name on it.
Skeleton was believed to be first resurrected by a low-ranking necromancer named Rubia, however recent chapters suggest otherwise.
Abilities Skeleton Soldier Couldn’T Protect The Dungeon
Return by Death – He has the ability to return to an undefined time in the past if he is killed. This ability allows him to retain the skills, experience and memories he has gained. Every time he dies, his assimilation rate goes down. Skeleton Soldier Couldn’T Protect The Dungeon
Blue Window – One of the core mechanics of the series that influences the Skeleton Soldier. Giving him guidance and strength. Isaac theorizes that the Blue Window is a power meant for the worlds protagonists to achieve impossible feats.
Item Box – This might be a sub-ability of the Blue Window that allows him to store objects in storage. Through Isaac’s guidance it can be expanded and turned into a shield and a weapon against foes.

Story Progression Skeleton Soldier Couldn’T Protect The Dungeon
First Life
No Name’s first life, was ironically, his longest lived life so far despite being his weakest. His necromancer, Rubia, was killed shortly after his resurrection but whoever killed her left him alone. Ten years following this, the great war emerged among the humans which resulted in the descent of the 16 Demon Lords. No Name became a follower of Baal during the rule of the Demon Lords. Later, the humans rose up against the Demon Lords and managed to defeat all of them. After the war, a Succubus essentially adopted No Name and made him her personal follower. Twenty years after his resurrection, him and Lady Succubus were attacked and ultimately killed.

Summary: After managing to kill the two mercenaries pursuing Rubia, the pair quickly leave Erast and head to the city of the Yublam. Once they arrive, Rubia enters the city alone to purchase a suit of armor for No Name due to his appearance causing a panic within human society. No Name waits for Rubia’s return. For three days. Only to discover someone carrying a wagon outside the city and dumping the now deceased corpse of Rubia.
Not long after her body was disposed of, a human leaves the city in search of her. Questioning him about Rubia, No Name finds out an inn owner from within the city was the main culprit for Rubia’s death. With that knowledge, he sneaks into Yublam and attacks the Inn Owner and begins torturing him. Through questioning, the Inn Owner reveals the existence of the Necron Society among the guards. But is unable to further divulge any information because the snake tattoo on his neck kills him.
Understanding that he needs to get stronger to protect anyone, No Name heads to the <Specter’s Charnel House> dungeon. A Cave-Type dungeon filled with skeletons to level-up and train. Originally, because he discovers the dungeon was filled with fellow skeletons, No Name was going to leave. But is ruthlessly assualted by the Dungeon Boss before he could leave. Which is why the Skeleton Soldier kills the skeleton boss. Right after that a quest window appears telling him to swing his sword 10,000 times to acquire the Swordsmanship Skill. Without eating or sleeping No Name uses the now empty dungeon to train.
In the midst of his training, a party of three enter the dungeon expecting it to be filled with weak skeletons only to meet the armor wearing Skeleton. No Name asks them to leave since he was using the site for training but is challenged by a knight under Rena’s encouragement. After discovering that the armored soldier was a skeleton, the knight confidently attacks No Name only to be quickly dispatched. The remaining member of the party quickly flees only to have a knife thrown at her back by Rena. Just as No Name turns his sword against Rena, she quickly surrenders and introduces herself as a member of the T&T Guild. An organization whose purpose surrounds underworld type businesses and offers her services to him. Originally uninterested, No Name realizes she was useful for information and asks her about the Necron Society.
A bit further interaction with Rena starts a Quest: “Rena’s Story” which asks No Name to help make Rena a Branch Manager of the T&T Guild.
With a business relationship between the two established. Rena gives No Name the information she has on the Necron Society. To obtain more detailed information, Rena needs to rise higher within the T&T guild so she proposes a plan. She’ll bring her assassination targets into the dungeon which he kills. Serving as training for him and accomplishments for her.
Under this arrangement, months go by as No Name get’s stronger killing the humans Rena lures into the dungeon. After one such killing, No Name discovers books among the loot. Among them was ‘The Unsightly Magician’ a book seemingly criticizing Magicians and discovers his Wisdom Stat was risen just by reading the book. Reading through all the other books, the only other book he discovers with the same effect is ‘The Unofficial Guide to Armed Forces around the World’. This marks the first moment No Name discovers the name of Kevin Ashton, the author of the two books.
182 nights after entering the dungeon, the dungeon’s affinity with No Name rises over 20%. Giving the dungeon the power to consume No Name into a deep dream. This happens at the same time when the Blue Lion Templar’s are dispatched to investigate the <Specters Charnel House> and subjugate any dangerous monsters within due to the number of disappearances occurring there. Under the dungeon’s control, No Name has no ability to differentiate friend or foe and attacks Rena when she comes to warn him.
The knights begin their assault on the pair as the dungeon consumes more and more of the Skeleton Soldier’s consciousness. Leaving Rena no other choice but to literally drag him out of the dungeon. But the knights were blocking her way out and shoots No Name with arrows. Forcing her to have to use her own body to protect him. Realizing that the dungeon was starting to consume him, No Name finally breaks out of the illusion that the dungeon traps him in to find Rena’s been shot with several arrows. Using an explosion of poison smoke Rena prepared as a distraction, he carries her out of the dungeon.
Finally they manage to escape the dungeon. Only to discover the leader of the Blue Lion Templar, Vatienne von Leandro waiting there. With an utterly ridiculous amount of power between them, no matter how hard No Name fought against the knight, the ending was a one-sided slaughter. No Name dies with regret for not being able to protect Rena, but feels some joy that he will revive and once again see Rubia.

Despite not understanding why he didn’t go all the way back, he knows that if they stay, he’ll become consumed by the dungeon and the Blue Lion Templar will reach them by the morning and quickly escapes with Rena. A quick discussion leads to deciding their next destination should be the <Ruins of Spiders Vault>. Along the way, they stop by the city of Yublam where Rubia died. Entering the city, Rena quickly notices how the atmosphere of the city was strange and the scent of opium was thick.
After a nights rest, they start preparing for their journey only to be stonewalled by merchants due to the products they want to purchase being necessities for the <Ruins of Spiders Vault>. After catching the towns blacksmith who was following them, they learn from him that the lord of Yublam and the guards were raising spider monsters within the dungeon which is why no one heads there. Added to the corruption of the lord as well as the fear that anyone who opposes the lord will be dragged off to the spider dungeon to be fed to the spiders. Among which was the blacksmith’s wife which is why he’s helping them. He gives them weapons and items including his prized <Grasmere’s Flame>. A powerful fire that will never go out. As well as a retardant powder that is supposed to protect them from using it.
Armed with the new weapons and a goal, the pair head for the <Ruins of Spiders Vault>. Upon entering the dungeon, they quickly meet and are nearly overwhelmed by the spider monsters inhabiting the cave. Only escaping their crisis thanks to the flamethrower the Yublam Blacksmith gave to them. During the attack, Rena was poisoned and without an antidote, was going nearing death. Desperate for the antidote, No Name discovers activity within the dungeon from the Yublam guardsman who were hauling prisoners into the cave to feed to the spiders and the queen.
Because they’re operating within the spiders cave, there was a high chance that they possess the antidote. So No Name holds one of the guards hostage to obtain the antidote. But the captain of the guards doesn’t care about the hostage at all and mocks Skeleton Soldier instead. Questioning the captain about what happened to Rubia, No Name is enraged by the answer the captain gave him and attacks. The captain then throws a large vial filled with spider egg yolk at No Name prompting an attack by the Spider Queen. Escaping with the Grasmere Flamethrower, No Name incinerates everyone and everything in the cave. Only to die when the heat becomes so great that he melts away.

This time, No Name throws the retardant on the blacksmith and aims the flamethrower his way. The Blacksmith quickly confesses that the retardant will only keep them from feeling the heat. Not stop the heat from killing them. When they ask him why he would kill them, the blacksmith responds by revealing he knows that No Name is an inhuman creature most likely conjured through evil methods and needs to be exterminated. Taking out two birds with one stone. Not bothering to kill the blacksmith, they leave taking all the weapons and equipment they like from the blacksmith including his most prized sword.
Before entering the Spider Dungeon once again. No Name renders Rena unconscious before entering alone. Within the spider cave, he fights against the guards. Quickly incinerating most of them but failed to kill the leader when he destroys the flamethrower. The leader of the guards holds the Spider Queen’s egg hostage to force the queen to start attacking the Skeleton Soldier who quickly finds himself overwhelmed. He barely manages to breakout of his predicament when he coats his sword with the <Grasmere’s Flame> and uses the flame coated sword to cut through the spider queen. Turning his sights on the leader after killing all the guards and spiders, the leader tries to run away but falls into some remaining <Grasmere’s Flame>. Panicking from being unable to put it out, he trips off a cliff and falls to his death. No Name abandons the flaming sword just as the Spider Queen returns. Unable to continue fighting, the Spider Queen retrieves her egg and holds it in her embrace. Relieved that it was safe. Before finally dying. Her body disintegrates leaving only the webslinger ruby. Summary: Reawakening at the coffin, No Name discovers something unnatural. Which was that Rubia’s presence wasn’t near him despite being revived. After waiting for a bit, he detect three presences approaching him and hides thinking it was the mercenaries. Only to discover it was Rubia herself and two city officials accompanying her. She came under the direction of her memories of previous lives that appear in her dreams. The fact that he revived before Rubia resurrects him prompts No Name to wonder who was the one to resurrect him to begin with. As he thinks, Rubia discovers his empty coffin and searches for him but is unable to discover his presence and returns to Erast.
In fear of being discovered by the Ghosts stationed in Erast, No Name watches over Rubia in secret and discovers she was acting as the lord of Erast until the Empire sends an official to appoint her. Learning that it was likely that Vatienne von Leandro was going to be the official to judge who would become the lord. A setting incredibly different compared to her previous lives. To support Rubia as much as he can, No Name quickly kills the criminals in Yublam and inside the <Ruins of the Spiders Vault>. Using the gold from the dungeon, he approaches the merchant union and hires them to grant their support for Rubia. When he asks them about where to hire some mercenaries, he is directed to a mountain side location where a strong mercenary should be training. There he meets the desperate and dispirited Christina. A swordsman he fought against and besides in previous life. As well as having killed her himself in his most recent life. Taking some time to motivate her and teach her to love the sword again, he tells her to go serve Rubia in Erast. Setting down a foundation for Rubia to become the lord of Erast.
On the long-term, No Name knew that having Isaac’s help would greatly benefit him. But it was still too dangerous to just revive him again. Instead, he goes to Dahliac and quickly locates T&T Guild’s Tropin Nanyau and Sharunian. Immediately surrendering to them. Getting captured, they take him to Rena who was searching for him. As they converse, he explains how he has lived previous lives with her before which Rena accepts as the truth and learns of the war which will occur 2 years from then. Learning about No Name’s desire to support Rubia, Rena informs him that a Honorary Duke named Vibiro was the one who would decide who was going to be the lord.
Armed with the new knowledge, No Name follows Vibiro around to investigate him. Only to get trapped inside the sewers where Vibiro reveals his true form as a Dawn Eater Serpent as well as the First Priest of Botis, a being whose power is arguably at the same level as Isaac’s. Thus overwhelmingly above the Skeleton Soldier. Luckily, Vibiro doesn’t kill him and instead brings him to a special park within the sewer’s where Vibiro had crafted everything, from a grandfather clock to pillars and benches, out of living humans. Stating that this kind of craftsmanship was possible thanks to the power of Botis. Stating that human’s only exist to suffer. A reason that led to the creation of the Necron Society that loves to inflict pain onto other humans.
No Name was originally angry at Vibiro for being the leader of the Necron Society that caused so much harm to Rubia. He quickly calms down once he realizes that this was a chance to learn more about that very society. Over the course of conversing with each other, Vibiro offers No Name the chance to state his desire, which he will grant. In exchange, No Name will join Botis’s faction. This contract is complete with Vibiro making Rubia the lord of Erast if No Name gives a suitable sacrifice. Being Vatienne von Leandro.
Due to Leandro’s position being too important within the Empire, Vibiro doesn’t immediately dispatch the Skeleton Soldier to kill him but instead only has him investigate the knight to find a weakness he could use. To that end, Vibiro grants No Name a special power of Botis to completely hide his presences and very existence from everyone. Using this power of concealment, the unnamed Skeleton Soldier starts to follow Leandro around to discover any kind of usable weaknesses. What he discovers soon after was a secret meeting between Leandro and Isabelle Simone where Leandro instructs Isabelle to only trust anyone who shows her a special token made from weaving some wires together. No Name proceeds to tell Vibiro about the token.
Before Vibiro could give the Skeleton Soldier his reward, they find out that Leandro had started directly acting to obtain the Regent Diamond. Otherwise known as Illian’s Tear. A divine artifact said to hold the power of the gods and directly harms those that follow the Demon Lords. Vibiro becomes enraged by Leandro’s actions which is when No Name offers his assistance in obtaining the Regent Diamond first. With Botis’s power of concealment and Vibiro’s knowledge of the maze, he quickly locates the thieves called Smooth Scorpion with Riley being the one to posses the Diamond. Riley uses the Diamonds power to cancel out the protection of Botis. The Demon Lord Botis rage against the artifact is passed onto No Name due to the corruption of his mind and throws him into a murderous frenzy where he starts killing everyone from the Smooth Scorpions to members of the Blue Lions Knight Order. Then escapes the pursuit of Leandro and returns to Vibiro with the Diamond.
Once Vibiro corrupts the diamond, depriving it of its divine power and hides it, Leandro appears at his residence and begins searching for the diamond. Vibiro himself leaves to make Rubia the lord of Erast making No Name ecstatic to finally complete her scenario. After watching Leandro in Vibiro’s house for a little while, he heads straight to Erast excitingly only to find Duke Laurence there as well. Thanks to Botis’s Protection, he wasn’t noticed further engraving in him how powerful Botis was.
With all his matters taken care of, Vibiro fulfills his promise and makes Rubia the lord of Erast. Delighted, the Skeleton Soldier goes and visits her. Only to be quickly confused because he didn’t detect the presence of her ministers and servants. When Vibiro reintroduces Rubia to him. As well as showing off how he had killed everyone in the mansion and infused their parts into Rubia’s own body. Transforming her into a human chimera constantly being tortured by the changes in her physiology. Horrified, No Name tries to fight Vibiro but Botis’s corruption quickly invades his mind to take it over. With no other option, he kills himself to reset the timeline.
